One fun thing about photography, besides just the innate joy in capturing an image that I think represents a situation beautifully, is sharing some of what I've learned with others.
A couple of days ago, I was invited to the home of Buffy Gwyn, of Buffy's Custom Cookies. She bakes and decorates sugar cookies for all kinds of occasions. Right now she is knee-deep in orders for Valentine's Day (and is even delivering in our area!!), but she even makes custom cookies to fit birthday themes. I am pretty sure she can do anything.
Even though these cookies *look* too beautiful to eat, well, I can't resist a cookie. I can say from personal experience that they are as delicious as they are pretty!
We got lots of shots of Buffy's cookies, but I'd also noticed several comments she wrote on her Facebook page about wishing she could take better photos on her own, so we talked about photography while I was there, too, from lighting (most important!) to angles to gear.
I even got to come home with the cookies we used for our shoot, so I was able to take a few more photos on my own, just for fun (which my husband calls "goofing off," lovingly...I think...).
Here are a couple more cookies for your viewing pleasure:
Many thanks to Buffy for a great shoot!!
